- Abstract
- This paper proposes the design approach of driving system for tidal flat vehicle. To design the system, topographic and geological survey is firstly accomplished. In this research, Anac located in west coast of South Korea is chosen to the survey area, and the basic design data such as the size distribution of gullies and normal pressure is obtained. To design shape of driving system, the numerical simulation using Recurdyn™ is done. In this level, the flat type of ATV(A11 Terrain Vehicle) and bogie type are the target. From the results, we propose the conceptual design with the functions: a) Low nominal pressure b) Powerful force delivery c) Adaptation of ground. To satisfy with the functions, rubber track, sprocket, tire and suspension are adopted to the driving system. Through the dynamic simulation, the driving performance is analyzed. Simultaneously, the static analysis for the frame structure is executed, from which the detailed design is drawn. To test the real performance of the designed driving system, the test vehicle is manufactured. At the artificial soil bin established in KORDI, the driving test is achieved and the problem is grasped. Copyright ? 2008 by the International Society for Terrain Vehicle Systems.
