- Abstract
- Differential GPS, which is the representative augmentation method for maritime navigation, has been widely used for the enhancement of GPS positioning performance due to a little burden on transmitting the correction data and the easiness of correction processing to improve the position accuracy. However unfortunately, few papers have been published on the requirements analysis for maritime DGPS reference stations and integrity monitors. And a study on the requirements testing has not been reported to our knowledge. For this reason, this paper deals with the requirements analysis and testing to be applied to assessing the maritime DGPS reference stations and integrity monitors. Firstly, in order to extract the requirements for maritime DGPS, this paper carries out a study to analyze the standards recently suggested by RTCM. And the requirements testing method is proposed to achieve the reasonable assessment results from the standpoint of the extracted requirements and maritime navigation. In this paper, the experiment platform is presented including the proposed testing method using IGS data. Finally, this paper discusses the strength and weakness of the proposed requirements testing method, and presents future studies to make up for the weak points of the proposed testing method.
