- Abstract
- Capacity plan plays an important role for both master production schedule and facility design in shipbuilding. This paper discusses the DEVS for a shipbuilding simulation required by capacity plan. A stochastic shipyard simulation is introduced to evaluate the capability of executing master production schedules in a shipyard as it simulates IHOP and master production schedule. The use of PPR-S model and object oriented DEVS as an integration mechanism for simulation is also discussed. DEVS shows production problems such as capacity shortages and throughput of each resource. Based on the stochastic DEVS model, the production capacity of each facility is evaluated.
