dc.description.abstract | The importance of SIL(Safety Integrity Level)-based SIS(Safety Instrumented System) design, which can secure the required functional safety and prevent dangerous accidents when the failure of system occur, has been attracting much attention in recent years. In order to ensure the risk within the acceptable levels through the SIL-based SIS design, the requirements suggested in IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards should be followed. Therefore, in this study, the IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards are analyzed to establish a procedure to correctly perform SIL on an offshore plant. The safety lifecycle suggested in the above standards only describes the stages considered to perform the SIL-based SIL design in this study. | - |
