dc.description.abstract | A sea-trial for measurements of a naval ships IR(InfraRed) signature has been performed. Sea-trial scenarios for Korean sea has been studied and measurements performed by ship- to-ship technique. We have investigated the effectiveness of both IRSS(InfraRed Signature Suppression) system and sea water hull-cooling system. Hull-cooling system on a naval ship shows much effective to reduce both bands(MWIR/LWIR) of IR signature. A comparative study between measurements and simulations using the software, ShipIR/NTCS has been performed as well. Simulation results show good agreement against the measurement data for most test cases.
