dc.description.abstractOffshore structures that are placed in Arctic regions have to able to withstand the force generated by the ice. The interaction modes between the ice and the structure have an important role on the design of offshore structure in ice environment. This research describes the characteristic of ice load acting on the cylindrical structure in ice-structure interaction. In this research, model tests of cylindrical structure were carried out in the MOERI ice model basin. Indentation test, pushing a vertical cylindrical structure into the edges of floating ice sheets, were conducted at the velocity of 20, 50, 80, 100, 200 nd 400mm/s, and then X and Y direction ice loads and ice pressures were measured. The maximum ice load and ice pressures were attributed to relative interaction mode between the ice and the structures.-
