dc.description.abstract | In this paper, authors introduce the satellite based Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) of Korean National Maritime Police Agency (NMPA). This system uses the satellite data communication system of domestic satellite, Koreasat. From the result of development, NMPA could secure the ability to track about 250 ships of NMPA simultaneously. And, authors developed the pilot system for Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) that integrates radar, Automatic Identification System (AIS) and VMS. This integrated VTS shows the possibility of wide area vessel traffic control. | - |
