dc.description.abstractThe objective of the present paper is to study on resistance performance of mobile harbor and design of the azimuth propulsion system. Ship model was manufactured of wood in compliance with the lines drawing and the scale ration was determined to satisfy the minimum Reynolds number (3 x 105) of propulsion system. The resistance performances of the side hull and the twin hull were measured respectively and the interaction between side hulls was investigated. Azimuth propulsion system was selected for the mobile harbor. The accelerating duct was used to the propulsion system. Azimuth propulsion system was designed based on the model test result of resistance and propulsive coefficients selected from data base of MOERI. The numerical prediction result of propulsion system was obtained using a potential theory. The powering performance of the mobile harbor is predicted using the model test of resistance and the numerical analysis of azimuth propulsion system. The predicted result of the designed propulsion system satisfies the speed of 8 knots at the engine power of 1000kW.-
