dc.description.abstract | ECDIS includes both the route plan function and the route check function. Mari-ners have to plan routes reflecting tidal changes at harbor having large tidal rang-es. Mariner attains tide level that changes along with period of tide through tide tables, one of nautical publications. Tide level is used in paper nautical charts and ECDIS’ ENC, but it’s vexing to calculate depth information that is suitable to ar-rival and departure time, and is hard to apply directly to paper nautical charts and ENC. In addition, Mariners have greater pressure on planning route. Route checking of ECDIS can be able to cause inaccurate results. In order to improve mariners’ inconvenience, this research study on intelligent route planning based on Tide Aware ENC handling real-time tide information. The intelligent route planning module concentrates on the safety of routes according to tidal changes. This research drew the conclusion on the practical route checking and concluded the results as intelligent route checking.h tide tables, one of nautical publications.
