dc.description.abstract | This paper provides analysis study of steel riser and flexible riser design for Subsea mining pilot test. The objective of subsea mining system is to develop sea floor Manganese nodule, which is expected to mine from Clarion-Clipperton region off the west coast of Central America. The riser system is divided six parts : Steel riser, flexible riser, flex joint, pump, buffer and miner. This paper focused on riser systems including steel pipe, flexible pipe and other equipments. Properties of most of these equipments are similar to those of oil market products which has been already verified in operating field for long time. The dimensions of these equipments are designed for proper subsea mining operation, and analyses are performed to confirm of steel riser and flexible riser system operability.ion off the west coast of Central America.
