dc.description.abstractThe Yellow Sea and the South Sea of Republic of Korea are globally renowned for large tidal range and it occurs 2 times in a day. When vessels enter and depart the harbor, tidal differences are considered for scheduling entry/departure times. Currently, a tide table as nautical publication is used to get tidal time and height information. But the tide table is inconvenient as it needs to be hand carried and manually calculated by the mariner. Thus, to relieve these inconveniences, this research studied intelligent route checking and danger route detecting using electronic tide tables. As a result, safe routes were deduced out of sea areas with large tidal differences and enhanced the convenience of route planning process.s.
