dc.description.abstract | In this study, a system of MIO management system for managing customized MIO (Marine Information Overlay), object, attribute and code number was developed as a MIO Registry and S-57 Feature Catalogue Builder. The MIO Registry is a system that enables more efficient management of newly defined entities and properties, which were not accounted for under the existing S-57 standard. If the required entities and properties were defined by MIO developers, the same information is likely to be expressed differently. This would prevent such information from being utilized in other systems and possibly lead to negative consequences. The key function of this system is to allow users to propose the required entities and properties, which are then approved for shared use in MIO. The approved entities and properties are shared and jointly used in MIO production. As shown in the figure below, MIO entities and properties can be used in various systems without conflict.at enables more efficient management of newly defined entities and properties, which were not accounted for under the existing S-57 standard.
