dc.description.abstract200kW High temperature ocean thermal energy conversion(HOTEC) was designed and bullit in the end of 2014 which uses unused energy such as waste heat and geothermal heat, etc. as heat source and deep seawater as heat sink. To operate and test for performance of 200kW HOTEC, a closed rankine cycle was designed and fabricated. we chose R245fa as the working fluid and the temperature of the heat source and heat sink were 75℃ and 5℃, respectively. The heat exchanger for evaporator and condenser was manufactured by Titanium and Oxynitride coating(SPCC) plates resisting to sea water corrosion, and the HOTEC cycle was designed for a gross power of 200kW. HOTEC plant was installed in Seawater Utilization Plant Research Center in Gosung-gun, Gangwon-do.
