As the sustainable use of energy and the mandatory application of new and renewable energy in the country, hydrothermal energy has attracted attention as an alternative to reduce the energy demand of the coastal area. The filtered seawater from coastal aquifer shows stable annual temperature change and withdrawal rate, so, it can be used as a heat source of a seawater air-conditioning system. The design of the seawater air-conditioning system using 100RT class using the filtered seawater showed a high performance coefficient of 3.6 or higher, the performance of the pilot plant of 10RT scale was verified through operation test. When applying the heat pump system using the filtered seawater from coastal aquifer, the power reduction of up to 25% compared to the existing electric facility was confirmed. And the seawater air-conditioning system showed stable operation and the room temperature was controlled reliably. It is planned to verify the reduction of the required power and the stability of the operation compared to the existing heating and cooling system in the changing ambient air temperature conditions through the long-term operation test. The study will be used as a basis for industries that require large volume of seawater heating and cooling systems, such as eco-friendly energy towns or eco-friendly independent islands, in coastal areas in the future.-
