dc.description.abstractAround 60 to 80 percent of the world·s marine waste is plastic, and in Korea, the collection of marine waste amounts to around 70,000 to 80,000 tons even though about 180,000 tons of marine waste are generated every year. Countries around the world, including the U.S. and Europe, have already become more common in dealing with resource circulation, including recycling and resource conservation, in order to reduce marine waste. In Korea, the Third Basic Plan for Management of Marine Waste (·19~23) plans to implement a scientific-based management policy focused on preventing the occurrence of marine waste, but effective measures are needed to cope with the problem of marine waste as it has limitations in collection volume, collection cost and time. To this end, it is necessary to upgrade smart mobile and fixed collection equipment technologies considering marine waste distribution environment characteristics and establish eco-friendly treatment process system including pre-processing considering marine waste characteristics of various characteristics. In addition, systematic management of marine waste and establishment of technology to support economic recovery are necessary.
