As newly developed naval ships become more complex with the reduced cost and time for their development, Modeling and Simulation (M&S) are increasingly used for the support of test and evaluation (T&E) required for the acquisition of naval ships. In this regard, M&S are important tools for the development of naval ships and a variety of studies on M&S have been therefore conducted in this field. However, there have been few studies on the reuse of M&S systems and integration between them or with other engineering systems, and data models. After having analyzed the previous studies from the standpoints of the integration and reuse of existing M&S systems, this paper suggests an M&S-based engineering architecture for the support of the acquisition process of naval ships, and describes future research topics to establish the architecture.-
