dc.description.abstract | Ships operating in Arctic regions face a number of unique risks such as stability, manoeuvrability, propulsion, habitability, access to equipment so icing on the ship is a major factor in risk management. Effects of icing due to ice accretion on the ship also give rise to a number of operational issues and main obstacle is very low temperature condition and it may reduce the effectiveness of numerous components of the ship machineries and propulsion systems. Means of protection techniques for icing problems on the ship are especially heating, insulation, drainage, cover for essential deck equipment, etc. But design requirements against icing problems are presently not yet well defined in ice class rules. In this research characteristic analysis of cryogenic cold room is discussed and then, cryogenic performance evaluation of weather-tight door for ice-strengthened vessel is reviewed. | - |
