dc.description.abstract | Digital twin technology creates a virtual model in the simulation environment which is identical to the real model. Using the virtual model, it can perform simulations for various situations to predict state and performance of the real system in advance. The digital twin technology can be effectively used for maritime ships, especially autonomous ships, which take a lot of time and cost from design to construction. Moreover, it is not easy to perform practical tests on a real ship for extreme conditions such as bad weather and accident risk situations. This paper presents preliminary study on the development of digital twin technology for autonomous ships. This research aims to develop a prototype platform fordigital twin ship which can be used for the monitoring and prediction of the state and performance of the real system. | - |
