dc.description.abstractIn order to evaluate the structural safety of a casualty ship in the early stages of a maritme acident, it is necesary to calculate the longitudinal strength acording to the damaged ship conditon. Longitudinal strength calculation of a casualty ship requires the information of hul form, compartments and loading conditon. Therefore, for emergency salvage of casualty ships which the data are not suficient, a program that can evaluate the structural safety of casualty ships at the begining of an acident is neded.In this research, a study is presented to develop damage longitudinal strength calculation technology to quickly evaluate the structural safety of the ship in the early stage of the maritme acident. The standard ship DB is necessary for the information of hull form, compartments, midship section and lightweight distribution. The longitudinal strength evaluation is carried out by calculating bending moment of damaged ship condition, by calculating the section modulus of the damaged midship section and by calculating the stress. This longitudinal strength evaluation technology can be utilized in the development of emergency response decision-making system by enabling rapid longitudinal strength calculation of the casualty ship in the early stage of an accident.-
