dc.description.abstractSubmarine is a important portion of navy power. The maneuverability of submarine is more important than surface ship. The maneuverability of submarine could be predicted by maneuvering simulation or free running model test. For the maneuvering simulation the maneuvering coefficients of math equations should be obtained by empirical formula, captive model test or CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics). In this paper the maneuvering coefficients are obtained by captive model test.The target submarine is MARIN BB2 whose drawings and free running model test results are open to the public by MARIN. The scale ratio of model ship is 15.0, and the captive model test is carried at the towing tank of Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering(KRISO) using VPMM(Vertical Planar Motion Mechanism). Resistance, self propulsion and maneuvering tests are conducted, and propeller open water test is also carried out. MARIN BB2 has X type stern fins, so test and analysis for that fins are conducted. The analysis for dynamic stability and control effectiveness using linear hydrodynamic derivatives is carried out. From the dynamic stability analysis it is thought that MARIN BB2 has a good course stability.-
