- Abstract
- In order to investigate a rising droplet behavior in the continuous phase, a front-tracking method with a re-mesh technique in three-dimensional unstructured mesh has been developed. Since the two-phase system such as liquid-liquid system in this paper is adopted, the motion of the free rising droplet has three path-types of rectilinear, helical, and zigzag as the Reynolds number based on the rising velocity and the Ohnesorge number based on the surface tension. The rise droplet behavior compares its simulation with an experimental result on the silicon-water system. Copyright ? 2004 by The International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers.
