- Abstract
- The turbulent flow solver using a low Mach number preconditioning method and the k-ω SST turbulence model is applied to numerical analysis on 2-D ground effect problems. Numerical calculations on flows about RAE 101 airfoil with and without ground effect are performed to validate the present solver. 2-D numerical analysis on the ground effect around NACA 4412 airfoil is carried out for a wide range of angle of attack and height. Behavior of aerodynamic coefficients and aerodynamic centers of the airfoil is examined and flow characteristics with the ground effect are investigated as well.
