dc.description.abstract | MOERI-KORDI (Maritime Ocean Engineering Research & Development Institute-Korea Ocean Research & Development Institute) developed the novel underwater oil sampling machine which can find out the existence of remaining oil inside a sunken ship by an in-situ sampling technique. This machine can be attached to the front of ROV and all functions are controlled by remote controller on the deck. In 2006, this machine was operated to investigate the existence of remaining oil from the sunken ship 'Kyung Shin', which had sunken into the East Sea near Pohang, Korea in 1988. During this investigation, this machine sampled remaining oil three times. This paper describes the underwater oil sampling machine and maritime work. ?2008 IEEE. | - |
