dc.description.abstract | This research suggests a guideline on the design of leg mating unit (LMU) for float-over installation of 20,000-ton class topside. Initial design of LMU is obtained to fit the specifics determined in the design of supporting structure and topside. By utilizing design optimization, the performance of LMU is enhanced to satisfy the requirements defined by recognized codes and standards and simulated load cases.
