dc.description.abstract | Numerical simulations were carried out to investigate wave impact loads on bow flare of a FPSO under irregular conditions. In this study, the horizontal slamming and vertical slamming were surveyed through relation between the motions and the slamming forces. To do that, two time windows were selected from the experimental data. The horizontal and vertical slamming forces from the numerical results were directly compared with the model test results. From the results, physical phenomena of the horizontal and vertical slamming were discussed. It can be found that the horizontal slamming force as well as the vertical slamming force are significant as design parameter. ? 2019 by the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE). | - |
