dc.description.abstract | Collision accidents has about 20 percent out of all ships’ accidents which have been occurred during recent five years. Over 85 percent out of ships’ collision accidents are due to human error. Particularly, because the collision accidents can develop the catastrophic sea pollution as the collision accident of Heibei Spirit in 2007, it is necessary to analyze the reason of the collision accident systematically and develop the safe navigation support system for the prevention of collision. A replay simulation system of ship collision accident (RESCA) has been developed by using AIS data. In this paper, playback simulation and avoidance simulation are carried out for the analysis of the reason of collision accident and the possibility of collision avoidance on the actual ships’ collision accident. Especially, through the estimation and comparison of the change of collision risk between the simulations of playback and collision avoidance on the collision accident, we try to analyze the drawback in the actions for collision avoidance according to the collision risk and the possibility of collision avoidance. Main features of RESCA and the simulation results of playback and collision avoidance are described. | - |
