dc.description.abstract | Recently, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has been discussing regulation of underwater radiated noise of merchant ships for protecting marine ecosystem. The major shipbuilding and maritime industries such as EU, Japan, and China are conducting related research. Although IMO does not have mandatory regulations on the level of underwater radiated noise of commercial vessels to date, the guidelines are provided by the classification society. Representative measurement standards include ISO 17208-1: 2006 , BV NR614 URN and DNV-GL class notation SILENT (E), but there are significant differences between the three measurements and source level estimation methods. In this study, we study the difference between three measurement standards and investigate the possibility of satisfying the SILENT (E) regulation of the ships constructed in our shipyard based on the measured data. | - |
