dc.description.abstractThe 2D horizontal motion of two rectangular barges including internal flow in time domain is investigated. Hydrodynamic coefficients are calculated by using Constant Panel Method and the internal fluid is modelled by the Multi-modal method, which is based on the Bateman-Luke variational principle. The characteristics of internal fluid motion are categorized by the ratio of the internal fluid depth(h) to tank length(l). When h/l is below the critical depth ratio, which is 0.3368 for rectangular water tank, Single-dominant method is not appropriate for describing the sloshing phenomenon precisely. This study is aimed to develop higher-order Multi-modal methods. The numerical results are compared with previous experimental data and a parametric study on the modal damping is conducted.-
