dc.description.abstract | The paper presents a review on the ship operational ability impaired by the alcohol. Mainly the effect of alcohol on an human behavior have been studied in transportation system, airplane and car driving. The previous experiments showed that a alcohol dose decreases the driving ability on the car and airplane. On the other hand the merchant ship simulation participants were unaware of the performance decrements under the low alcohol condition. Through the research papers, alcohol characteristics and human performance are summarized to understand a basic relation between alcohol and human behavior, and the statistics of in the job alcohol use in the korea waters are investigated during the period from 2000 to 2004. The results are expected to be used as a basic data for further research regarding the effects of alcohol on ship handling ability. | - |
