dc.description.abstractFiber Bragg Grating(FBG) sensor technique for measuring multi-points of strains for a slender structure under water was introduced and the effectiveness of FBG sensor technique was analyzed. The strain measurement principle of FBG sensor was briefly explained. The specification of si425-500K, interrogator for FBG sensor, installed in MOERI was summarized. An experiment on vortex induced vibration of a marine slender structure in linearly sheared flow was introduced. The advantage and disadvantage for applying FBG sensor technique to measure strains of a slender structure were summarized. It was concluded that the FBG senor technique was very useful to measure reliable strains data in high mode experiments of a slender structure.-
