- Abstract
- IR(InfraRed) signature of a naval ship is composed of various signature sources.
Contributions of typical IR signature sources has been investigated by numerical
analysis using an analysis software, ShipIR/NTCS. Signature changes by an observer
elevation have been analyzed through performing analysis for various observer
conditions. IR signature of naval ships can be dramatically changed by observer
elevation especially in a background with high temperature difference between air and
sea. It is supposed that reducing ship skins contribution is very important in the night
time condition also against high altitude threats.observer
