dc.description.abstractThis paper presents an experimental study on the motion response of OTEC complex in regular waves. Present OTEC complex consists of 10MW OTEC platform and utility substructures with living part and production part. Model tests with 1:60 scale ratio were carried out in ocean engineering basin of KRISO. Two different wave heading angles (180deg, 135deg) were considered under the regular wave conditions. Motion response and run-up results from the model test are compared with calculations using frequency-domain floating body analysis problem (AdFLOW). During the test, load cell of 6-axis components was used to measure the sectional force acting on the connector. Discussion is made on the sectional loads including shear forces and bending momens.-
