dc.description.abstract | In order to produce model ice sheets with targeted physical properties in accordance with law of similarity, ice model basin at the Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering carry out a series of processes such as cooling, seeding, freezing, and tempering. a model ice imitating sea ice such as level ice, rubble ice, pack ice, and brash ice in polar waters is generated to evaluate the ice-going ship's resistance propulsion performance, and conduct model tests such as estimating ice load on ice-going ships and marine structures. In this study, we investigated the effect of some procedural changes in “PG(PropyleneGlycol)/EG(Ethylene Glycol)/AD(Aliphatic Detergent)-CD(Correct Density)” model ice sheets, such as whether micro-bubble layers are included in the freezing process or whether seeding process is conducted, on physical properties such as thickness, density, and strength of the model ice sheet. | - |
