dc.description.abstract | In 2003 Spring meeting of the SNAK, 'Development of Rules for classification of V.L.F.S(Very Large Floating Structure)(Ⅰ)' was presented. In the paper, a outline of the classification rules for the V.L.F.S was introduced. As a sequential paper, more details of the second year's research result for development of Classification rules of V.L.F.S selected by a structure designer. To define rules for the strength requirement, hybrid method applied on the assumption that the global and the local behavior of the structure can be treated swparately. For the local scantlings, the well-established classification rules, witch is applings th the ship structure, have been imcorporated. As V.L.F.S is far thimmer thn conventional floating structures im terms of their ratio of depth per length, an elastic response analysis has been accepted for evaluation of the global strength. | - |
