dc.description.abstractMarine accident have vast adverse effects on human, vessels, marine structures and the environment. Therefore, efforts to reduce marine accidents have always been present, but recently, as the accidents became greater in scale, such efforts became more important. However, such accidents are possible to prevent. This paper describes probabilistic risk assessment and management methodologies as a means of ensuring and managing system safety. In addition, their applications to marine systems including vessels are proposed.-
