dc.description.abstract | In recent years, demand of good seakeeping performance is increasing for cruisers, naval ships and container ships. Because container especially become larger, efficient method to prevent large roll motion is required. Large roll motion due to resonance arisen from in herent small damping, so mechanism to provide additional roll damping can significantly reduce roll motion. In this paper, initial design guide of fin stabilizer, which is very useful for decreasing roll motion of constant speed ships, is described. To evaluate performance of fin stabilizer, time domain analysis is simulated and model test is performed. Simulation and model test show good agreement. | - |
