dc.description.abstractDiffraction of hihly nonlinear transient waves of extreme wave height by floating bodies is numerically simulated within the scope of potential theory. A finite element method based on Hamilton's principle s used to solve the initial boundary value problem.The specified nonlinear waves are obtained numerically from the two-dimensional wave tank simylated by the same finite element scheme.-
