dc.description.abstract | It is important to understand the flow characteristics around a ship for the design of the hull forms with better resistance and propulsive performance. The experimental results of local flow measurement are used for the validation of the physical and numerical modeling of CFD codes. This paper describes local velocity measurement around twin-skeg 15,000TEU container ship in the towing tank. The measurement is carried out at the leading edge of rudder and transom plane to investigate the effects of propeller rotaion and rudder on stern flow characteristics of the twin-skeg hull form. This result can provide the valuable information for the understanding for the uncommon hull form and important database for CFD validation. | - |
