dc.description.abstract | Geoacoustic inversion and source tracking is performed with MAPLE 2004 experimental data conducted in the East Sea of Korea. The towed source is a narrowband, multi-tone source whose signals are received on a vertical line array. The cost function of the optimization is chosen as a correlation between the measured and modeled transmission losses, which results in a better transmission loss match. Matched-field source tracking is performed and enhancement of the result is obtained through incoherent broadband frequency summation. Bulbs are also used as sources at several stationary points. The recorded time series of these signals on the vertical line array is also used for verifying the inverted geoacoustic parameters. Comparison with existing historical geological survey data reveals the inverted results to be a plausible match. | - |
