dc.description.abstract | STEP, which is the standard for the product data exchange and sharing, is being applied in shipbuilding industry as well as other manufacturing industries. In order to manage more than one hundred thousand parts of a large-sized ship, utilization of STEP database is required. This paper presents the ship data management system based on STEP AP218 for the selective query and visualization of the ship design data. The key aspect of the proposed system is to query the ship design data using STEP AP218 information. To this end, this paper presents how to: i) store the ship design data which conforms to STEP AP218 into the STEP database, ii) visualize the ship design data by integrating the geometric modeling kernel and STEP database, and iii) query the ship design data based on STEP AP218 schema. | - |
