dc.description.abstract | Within the last years a high number of large ships has been lost. The causes of accidents are in many cases believed to be 'Freak waves'. These are individual waves of exceptional wave height or abnormal shape. In a wave spectrum distribution of a linear wave theory, we have been recognized that the waves could not appear actually. However, from the recent observation used SAR images, it has been brought to light as a matter of frequent occurrence, but the causes of the freak wave appearances could not explain clearly yet. In this study, extreme individual waves and wave groups based on nonlinear wave theory are investigated for deep waters based on nonlinear wave theory. Moreover, We propose a numerical model of nonlinear schreodinger equation for investigation of the nonlinear wave focusing phenomena. | - |
