dc.description.abstractDeep-sea miner system is one of important technology in the Deep Seabed mining system. In this paper, we propose design of control and monitoring system for deep-sea miner. In miner, pick-up efficiency of manganese nodule can be maximized by the control and monitoring system under the optimal design. To design the control and monitoring system, the mechanical structure and function of pick-up part, track part, crasher part, hydraulic actuators and electric power supply part are simplely explained. According to the major three-functions, pick-up, traveling and safety, items of control and monitoring are defined and the specification of sensors are determined. Finally, control and monitoring interface equipment which is composed of real time embeded controller, media converter, signal, video, digital input, analogue output and DAQ device are introduced.-
