dc.description.abstract | This study aims to find out the spatial and monthly distribution of wave characteristics around Chagui-Do sea area of Jeju which is considered to be one of the most promising wave power generation sites. The wave fields induced by regular waves with various incident angles were simulated based on FUNWAVE wave model and we identified the optimal sites for wave energy converters where the waves are focused. In the simulation, we used a fine spatial grid of 5m interval and a time interval of 0.1 second for 500 seconds simulation. Incident waves were divided by wind and swell seas. The several locations at the west sea area of Chagui-Do, where an effective directional wave focusing occurs, are relatively higher in wave height than other sea area and those are considered as probable optimal sites for wave power generation. | - |
