dc.description.abstract | Ship's exhaust emissions are greenhouse gases which contribute to global warming effect These emissions are composed of CO2, CH4, N2O, HFC, PFCs and SF6 and, among these, CO2 emission is the most critical component. CO2 represents more than 95% of the total emission and it should be controlled and reduced. Likewise, ship numbers and total tonnage in the shipping business has been increasing steadily brought by higher volume of transport between countries. Hence, the interim guidelines were adopted for voluntary Ship CO2 emission indexing for use in trials suggested by the committee at IMO MEPC 53rd session. In this paper, the CO2 discharge and emission level of ocean-going vessels were investigated by interim guideline and analysed by the weighting factors proportionate to the vessel's voyage distance and the number of vessels as an exact statistical method. | - |
