| dc.description.abstract | Based upon the decision of the 9th MERRAC Focal Points Meeting, the NOWPAP members (P.R. China, Japan, R. Korea and Russia), with secretariat support from MERRAC, are now developing the HNS regional contingency plan by expanding existing NOWPAP Regional Oil Spill Contingency Plan, under which the NOWPAP members can assist one another whenever they encounter major HNS spill. The present paper reviewed the current state of NOWPAP members regarding HNS spill preparedness and response, and then would like to identify preliminarily future actions to be taken by MERRAC and/or regional countries in order to increase regional response capabilities for HNS in the NOWPAP region. | - |
