dc.description.abstractA Rudder Control Unit (RCU) for free-running model test is newly designed by using DC servo motor. The analog signal is used for position sensor output and control command to reduce time delay, which is sometimes occurred in the control by digital signal. RCU can be easily tuned by changing the voltages of gain and offset. By filtering feed-back signal to improve the loss of heat and electric power, RCU can be robustly operated with high position accuracy. As a result of free-running test, it is found that RCU is successfully operated according to auto-pilot command for course-keeping of model ship.-
