dc.description.abstract | This paper introduces 4-DOF captive model test system using CPMC(Computerized Planar Motion Carriage) which was installed at Ocean Engineering Tank of MOERI. CPMC is able to impart an arbitrary horizontal motion to a model ship so that it can be used to carry out captive model tests more generally than PMM(Planar Motion Mechanism) or Rotating Arm System. Pilot captive model test results have been made for 9,000 TEU container ship with a propeller and a rudder. The results are compared with the PMM test results with same model ship. The comparisons results of static test show good agreements. And the comparison results between pure yaw test of PMM and turning test of CPMC are discussed. The test results about flow directions into rudder of a ship with oblique and turning motion are also shown. | - |
