dc.description.abstract | Although Screw propeller is prevalently used as a propulsion system of Unmanned Underwater Vehicle yet but is generally underestimated in designing propulsion system of small AUV because of its relatively higher expense of designing and manufacturing than the other sub systems. We eventually found the way of adopting a propeller at a low cost as a main propulsion system of ISIMI AUV of MOERI. There are plenty of scale model propellers in MOERI those are almost fit to UUV. Some candidates adequate in size were investigated from their open water test data. Because it is impossible to test the ISIMI hanging to the towing tank carriage because of ISIMI's small size, we establish the way of assesment of the propulsion performance of ISIMI equipped with the selected propeller by a free running test in Ocean Engineering Square Tank at MOERI. The analysis of the test results are not satisfactory. We expect the more reliable results in next experiment. | - |
