dc.description.abstract | The Korea Oil Spill Prediction System (KOSPS) is a cooperative project between the Korea Ocean Research & Development Institute (KORDI) and the Korea Coast Guard (KCG) to develop a GIS database and program to support oil spill contingency planning in South Korea. KORDI has developed GIS application and built GIS data for oil spill prevention and response. KCG has analyzed their work for controlling oil accident designed this system with KORDI. And KCG has used this system for controlling oil spill accident at some coastal area. This project is going on and extending its area to whole Korean coast. There are three parts of this project. First, calculation function for contingency planning and real coastal features is implemented in FOTRAN. Second, GIS data including ESI map is built using ArcInfo. Third, GIS function is developed with Visual C++ and MapObjects. Finally we integrate all of these three parts in GIS system. | - |
