dc.description.abstract | This paper summarizes an experimental and numerical study on the marine propeller noise. Cavitation tunnel test and noise measurement results are presented. The experiments carried out in the MOERI medium sized cavitation tunnel, equipped with 600mmX600mm test section. In order to secure the reliance of measured propeller noise data, background noise of each operating conditions are measured and analyzed. Time domain acoustic analogy coupled with a potential based panel method is used for the numerical investigation of the propeller noise. A brief summary of numerical prediction method is described and its results are compared with those of the experiment. Through this study, the noise source of propeller is analyzed, which will provide a basis for studying the mechanism of underwater propeller noise. | - |
